In February, our third scholarship student, Kilili Debo Roy graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. He will now serve a required year of service as an intern and then find work in the health care industry in Uganda. Kilili survived multiple school lockdowns during the pandemic and managed to finish all his studies with a 4.1/ 5.0 gpa. His Dad and brother came from the village to celebrate the graduation ceremony with him. You can have a look at his happy face while he was in his cap and gown that day. He sent us a video expressing his thanks for the opportunity that Quench and Connect gave him to earn this degree. It happens that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Makerere University in the capitol city Kampala, so many dignitaries were present at the commencement including the Minister of Education. Congratulations to Kilili Debo!
