“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Ssenkaali Godfrey and Family

Ssenkaali Godfrey was our first university scholarship recipient and graduated in 2014 from Uganda Martyrs University with a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies.  Since then, he has been working on local development projects in his home village in the Rakai District, near the border with Tanzania, in southern Uganda.  He has a lot of energy and is a true entrepreneur, finding lots of ways to help his neighbors and take care of his family.  He is now married and has two little girls (see picture) and his future looks bright because he earned a college degree. Godfrey helps Quench and Connect with in-country oversight as a consultant, communicating with candidate schools and coordinating our annual site visits.
