New borehole at Bujuuku Secondary School

A new borehole has been constructed at Bujuuku Secondary School in the Mpigi District near Kampala.  Funds for this borehole were provided by a Global Grant from Rotary International led by Rotarian Charles Weber of the Rotary Club of Dubuque IA, with Quench and Connect as Strategic Partner.  This school is in a very poor region but 210 students now

Kilili Debo Roy is our third recipient of a university scholarship from Quench and Connect. He is now in his second year studying medicine at Makerere University in Kampala and doing very well.  When we met him in Uganda, he told us that he had just received his grades and had earned a gpa of 4.10 out of 5.00 possible.

Recent trip to Uganda

In late October, photographer Helena Hessle and I went to Uganda.  We travelled over 1800 kilometers throughout the country to visit eight schools that have received boreholes and teaching tools from Quench and Connect in the past year.  We saw the new boreholes and science labs and computer facilities that have been set up with funds from our donors.
