During the first part of this academic year, students at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, worked to raise money for the water well at Gulu College. The Clarke students participated in ‘Africa Week’ activities, and several clubs on campus organized fund-raisers during the academic year. On March 13th, the Executive Director of Quench and Connect, Dr. Kathryn Ely, was invited to campus to present the Mackin-Mailander lecture with Dr. Paula Schmidt, a professor in the Education Department at Clarke. After her lecture, the Clarke students presented Quench and Connect with a check for $3500 for the water well project in Gulu. Quench and Connect applauds the Clarke students for their success and hard work. Many thanks to Clarke University for supporting Quench and Connect!
